There are all kinds of home business ideas that involve using your own back yard. It all depends on its' size and landscape.
Photography: if you have a very scenic piece of land, you could consider Portrait Photography: weddings, schools, families.
Outdoor Weddings: if you have a beautiful yard and home consider building a gazebo or large brick barbeque as focal points.
Large Pond: stock it for fishing.
Miniature Golf Course: for all ages, schools, exercise clubs, businesses.
Riding Lessons: if you have a farm with horses, consider giving riding lessons.
Christmas Tree Farm: plant different types of trees (white pine, spruce, blue spruce, etc) used for the Christmas season: "U-Cut" or Pre-Cut. This would also be a good opportunity to sell your own ceramics, ornaments and decorations you made during the year.
"U-Pick" Garden Patch
Back-Yard Nursery: grow flowers, vegetables for resale to vendors, flower shops, local grocery stores: set up a road-side concession, farmers markets.
Petting Zoo: sheep, goats, dogs, cats: animals considered to be friendly: for pre-schoolers and daycares, elementary school field trips, birthday parties. You may want to consider have a large picnic area with tables nearby for social groups that wish to turn their outing into a day trip.
Animal Shelter or be a Pet Sitter
